Old Fashioned Lye Soap
We’re often asked for “just plain lye soap” like many of our grandmothers used to make. This soap contains only lard, lye, and water – it's all natural - no added fragrance or color. Many people have told us that it is great to use on the skin after being exposed to poison ivy, poison oak, or sumac. We have found that it helps or eliminates itching caused by insect bites like chiggers. If your grandmother’s lye soap burned your skin please be assured that this soap is gentle to the skin as the lye and oils have been measured VERY carefully.
