Four Thieves Soap
The unusual name for this soap is from the fragrances.  During the dreadful years of the Black Death, a few people found the way to survive the plague that was decimating the population. Among the more colorful of these were four thieves from Marseilles who plundered for treasures in the homes of the dead. There are many different recipes published, but one says that they used oils of cinnamon, clove, rosemary, lemon, and eucalyptus to keep from getting the plague. Law enforcement finally caught them and agreed not to hang them in exchange for divulging their secret for not getting sick.
